Am I a Tai Cheng Master Now?

Life as We Live

In my final week of Tai Cheng I dropped another 1.4 lbs.  Counting down the last 17 pounds or so before I reach my next goal.  I'll be thrilled if I make goal in time for my birthday but I will be satisfied just with reaching the goal the same month.  It'd be like a belated birthday gift to myself.

Week 13 was entirely the same as week 12.  I knew I couldn't do the same thing again.  The first half of the week I would do the sequences once on each side and then go work on my smoothie, returning in time for the next sequence.  The end of the week I did all 18 moves once on each side during the first two sequences only and ate cereal during the third sequence.  I got all confused a few times doing all the moves without direction.  So do I qualify as a Tai Cheng Master now?

I'm ready to move on to Slim in 6 tomorrow.  My plan is to do 2 weeks of Start It Up! followed by 2 weeks of Ramp It Up! and finish with 2 weeks of Burn It Up!  I'm not sure how I'll work in the bonus videos, Slim & 6 Pack and Slim & Limber.  I'll just have to play it by ear with those two.

Be on the lookout over at Casually Cassi for my review of the whole Tai Cheng program.

  1. I am so proud of you for completing the program!! That must be a wonderful feeling!!! I can't tell you the last time I stuck it out through an entire program like that. That is awesome! It takes a lot of courage, strength and motivation and you have proved you have that!

    1. My first program and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be sticking to it all.

  2. You must be so proud of your accomplishment. We are all very happy for you. What is the biggest thing (other than the fantastic weight loss) that you have learned from your experience?

    1. Just the fact that I could do it. Why was I so resistant to doing anything before? I just couldn't find the right motivation.

  3. Sounds like you have been dedicated to your plan for weight loss. Right now I'm into hula hooping and the 7 minute scientific workout. For me working out is just plain addictive and on #1 on my list of no cost things to do. LOL.

  4. As a busy mom, (aren't we all) I try to find any type of movement I can. My oldest son loves WII and we have started to use the Wii as an exercise program. I hate to admit he is much better and disciplined than I am but he helps motivate me. Congratulations on your wonderful success.

    1. If I had a Wii I'd be using it too. I'd probably use the exercise program as play time with my son. Sometimes making a competition out of it.

    1. During Tai Cheng I never felt a twinge of desire to quit until the last 4 weeks when it got boring. Reading and hearing comments from others has kept me going.

Also, somehow I only managed 3 gains since starting and they were all under 1 lb. I'm just in awe of myself that I've been so successful!

    1. Tai Cheng is based off the Yang Style of Tai Chi. There is no certification as far as I can tell.
