I wrote this post on Wednesday but didn't post until Thursday. I was trying to find more information on neuroendocrinology (see physical therapy wrap-up below) but I'm not seeing much on this field.
At weigh in last night I regained the 3.6 lbs I lost last week. I stopped taking the probiotics and TOM snuck in there so perhaps it was a combination of the two. This TOM has been horrible! I've felt so weak and miserable Monday and Tuesday.
Week of Workouts
Thursday was Kelly Coffey-Meyer's 30 Minutes to Fitness Bootcamp Workout 1. It was way too fast for me so I never went back to do Workout 2.
Friday was Kelly's Lift in Full Throttle Powersculpting workout.
Saturday I did Jillian Michael's Extreme Shed & Shred Level 2 and boy was that tough!
Sunday was 75 minutes of Yin Yoga with Kim Eng.
Monday I woke up so crappy from TOM that I took a rest day.
Yesterday I did 33 minutes of Yin Yoga.
Since I was feeling a little better today I did Kelly Coffey-Meyer's 30 Minutes to Fitness Circuit Burn Workout 2.
Physical Therapy Wrap-up
Yesterday was my last PT session. We determined the cause (basically me tensing up and holding everything in my neck) and a solution (the exercises and Alexander Technique). This is from years of behavior that I have to undo so it's not anything that can be done staying in PT. I have to do this on my own.
With the crappy TOM I brought up menstrual migraines (since I was having one). She suggested that I see a doctor specializing in Neuroendocrinology. How would a PT know anything about this? Her husband did his fellowship in this very area so she has some basic knowledge. His office is up in Carmel so I've asked my GYN if he knows someone closer before I get the PT's husband's contact information (that just sounds so wrong LOL).

ReplyDeleteI usually don't take my client's body fat when they are on their periods, too much water gain. I would worry you will back down to your weight goal. You should give yourself a buffer range like 3 to 4 pounds. You are getting PT on your upper back and neck? #wowlinkup
DeleteMy range to stay in is 138-142 lbs.
DeleteYes, the PT was for my neck but we never really touched upon my upper back. Too many problems with me tensing up and using unnecessary muscles even when doing something as simple as sitting/standing.

ReplyDeleteJillian Michaels workouts always leave me exhausted, but they're great workouts at the same time. I hope you're feeling better soon. At least you know now what's happening and how to fix it.
ReplyDeleteIf you're not exhausted from one of Jillian's workouts then you didn't do it right. Even her yoga DVDs can leave you winded!
DeleteI'd probably skip the weigh in that day! Cut yourself some slack.
ReplyDeleteI haven't missed a weigh in yet. It may be a day or two later but it gets done. With Lifetime you only weigh in monthly so that'll be a big change for me.
DeleteI would be curious to hear more about the neuroendocrinology piece of your migraines. After the birth of my daughter, I experiences migraines with aura for the first time ever. Over the past four years, I periodically get these migraines and the doctors tell me that they think it is related to hormone fluctuation. Yet, I have never received a referral to a specialist. Now this has me wondering!
ReplyDeleteI love Jillian Michaels Workouts, they are super effective!
ReplyDeleteMigraines are such a mysterious thing. The triggers, the relievers, the symptoms... everything seems so different for every sufferer. As I've gotten older I suffer less often, but when they do come they can be wicked. I sympathize with anyone who has ever experienced the pain. I wish you well!
ReplyDeleteUgh, I hate weight swings, this is why I never weigh myself, but obviously each to our on that regard. Probiotics are my life too, I cannot go one day without them! Ha!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry you're not feeling so great this week :(
I am sorry you weren't feeling great this week, I hope this week is better for you!! I love Jillian workouts, she is hard core and I love her style!
ReplyDeleteI would not worry about the 3 lb swing and I have never heard of menstrual migraines. You are looking great Cassie. #wowlinkup
