Joining Creating Better Tomorrow for Stress Free Holidays
You open up your planner. And immediately you feel overwhelmed. School holiday party this week. Extended family next week. Christmas shopping sometime in the mix. Clean the house for your in-laws coming over. Does this look anything like your agenda throughout late November and through December? And many of you probably have travel in there too.
First off, how about you and me, together, let's take a deep breath.
Starting on November 20th I will be helping you reach that goal of stress free holidays. Together we will work to drink our water, move, and to love ourselves. You will receive a daily email from me with a self love and gratitude action step (won't take long I promise!) and you in that email will also be your daily reminder on water and movement! AND you will be added into my private facebook group for clients only! I'd love to have you and invite you to learn more or contact me with any questions sarah@creatingbettertomorrow.com. Most importantly though, whether you join me or not, I pray that this holiday season is the most joyous and blessed season for you and those you love.

How to Build a Gratitude Attitude and be Free Right Now
If there is one place where we should be
completely free, then it is in our own mind. We might have limitations in terms
of what our bodies are capable of and what we’re allowed to do – but our minds
should be free to roam wherever we want them to.
Unfortunately, this is not the reality most
of us live in. Instead, our thoughts are dictated by our circumstances and
those circumstances are largely out of our control. This is why we will often
find ourselves feeling dissatisfied and constantly wanting to push forward,
rather than stopping to enjoy life and smell the roses.
And without meaning to get political or
philosophical, our capitalist lifestyles only reinforce this nature and try to
push us faster.
Are You Happy?
Most of us are constantly in a position of
slight dissatisfaction. We feel as though there’s ‘one thing’ that could make
our lives better and help us to be happier. Maybe we wish we had just a little
bit more money, or maybe we wish we had a bigger house. Maybe we want a better
job?
Partly this will be encouraged by the media
and by the material goods that we want. We want more money so we can play the
latest game, wear the latest clothes and post pictures of ourselves on holiday
to show to friends.
And we keep working harder and stressing more to try and accomplish these things
– in turn keeping the cogs of society spinning.
Making a Change
But now take a think about that game you
find yourself wanting. Aren’t there computer games on your shelf right now that
you haven’t played yet? Aren’t there free games you could download today and
have just as much fun with? Isn’t it just marketing that is pushing you towards
that next game and that next expense?
Likewise, ask yourself if having more money
would really make you happier. You can travel very cheaply right now – the
problem is probably more with leaving work. More responsibility isn’t going to
help that!
So how do you make a change and start to be
freer and happier right now? The answer is that you change your focus. Instead
of fixating on what you don’t have and on what you want, instead start to
fixate on what you already have and what you’re grateful for. This is called a
‘gratitude attitude’ and it’s the fastest route to having a satisfying and
happy life.

10 Things for Which I am Thankful
Today's writing prompt from The SITS Girls' Back to Blogging Challenge it to list 10 things we're thankful for. Here are 10 random things for me.
- Cuddles with Austin. He is becoming a teenager this year so I know I don't have many of these left.
- My house. We HAD to get out of that bad neighborhood in 2012. We couldn't stay there any longer because of the nasty comments, noise, and threats from the criminal neighbors that had moved in across the street.
- My job. Even though I hate it a lot I am thankful that I have a job.
- Weight Watchers. Without their partnership with researchers to do the diabetes prevention study I probably would've never lost weight or found my passion.
- My readers. Your support and encouragement throughout this journey has been such a tremendous help.
- My new car. Yes, the accident was a godsend. My old car wasn't really safe to drive anymore but I didn't have much of a choice. There was no heat or air, only knew when to fill up the tank when the car hesitated turning right, most of the time the turn signals and probably brake lights didn't work, the radio was possessed (turning on and going full blast all on its own), etc.
- Benny. Yes, he may annoy me or frustrate me a lot of time but he has helped me pick myself back up many times.
- My FitFam. All the other health and fitness bloggers out there are great inspirations and resources for when you get stuck somewhere or you may find yourself helping them too.
- The Internet. Without it...well I don't know where I'd be. I wouldn't have met Benny. I wouldn't be able to communicate with most people. What can't you do online?
- The Farmer's Market. It's an inexpensive way for me to explore new veggies (I don't really see much fruit at the downtown one I go to). I've discovered my newfound love of zucchini and Swiss chard there.
For what are you thankful?
